THE BEST BAKED POTATO

THE BEST BAKED POTATO

NO NEED TO VISIT YOUR FAVORITE STEAKHOUSE…

…to get that perfect Baked Potato.

The Sometimes Farmer, aka My Husband, is a serious triple threat. The guy makes me laugh, looks good in blue jeans, and can cook up some tasty eats. He started making these baked potatoes years ago…when we still lived in the big city. They are so good that they’ve stuck with us all this time.

Coated in butter and coarse sea salt, the crust is crispy while the inside is nice and soft.

Serve ’em up with a generous dollop of sour cream and your blue jean wearing cowboy will love you forever.

Disclaimer: I believe the secret to these potatoes being so yummy, is the fact that I DO NOT poke them with a fork before cooking. I will usually stick a fork in them to check their done-ness once the beeper goes off. Only once have I had a potato explode in the oven…so I will let YOU decide at your own discretion if you want to fork the potato or not…

THE BEST BAKED POTATO

  • Butter or Olive Oil
  • Coarse Sea Salt (I use this kind)

INSTRUCTIONS:

1.Preheat oven to 400°.

2. Wash potatoes.

3. Rub the entire potato with either butter or olive oil. It will be a sloppy mess.

4. Coat the buttered-up potato with coarse sea salt.

5. OPTIONAL: Poke the potato…I DO NOT DO THIS.

6. Place directly on wire rack in oven. (Line bottom of your oven with a cookie sheet to catch any drippings).

7. Cook at 400° for 1 hour.
